Department Overview

The School of Business Student Affairs Office at Howard University serves as a vital support hub for undergraduate and graduate students, dedicated to fostering academic, professional, and personal success. Rooted in Howard’s tradition of excellence in business education, the office has evolved to meet the needs of a diverse student body by providing academic advising, leadership development, student organization oversight, and coordination of key events such as orientations, professional development programs, and honors recognitions. It also supports internship and career services, mentorship programs, and student advocacy while promoting wellness and community engagement. By serving as a liaison between students, faculty, and administration, the Student Affairs Office plays a central role in guiding students through their educational journey and preparing them to become ethical, globally minded business leaders.

The office is located in suite 222 in the School of Business and online.

Thursday drop-in will be shifted in lieu of the university-wide UAAC meeting held every other week on Thursday mornings. Drop-in is on a first-come, first-serve basis and is conducted via Zoom. Please see Zoom details below.

 

Appointments:

Appointments are scheduled through Calendly. Students should visit this link for weekly appointment availability and bookings. Special appointment requests should be directed to the SBEL coordinator via email (christopher.oliver@howard.edu) and will only be accommodated based on availability and current scheduling. Please follow all instructions provided once the appointment has been scheduled. If you are unable to keep your scheduled appointment for whatever reason, please cancel/reschedule your appointment slot so another student is able to book an appointment with the advisor.

Course information should be accessed via Blackboard. Professors in the School of Business have been asked to respond to inquiries within 2 business days via email. If you do not receive a response within 2 business days, email the department chair for assistance.
