Fellowships
Research Funding
- The CERC actively pursues research grants from the NSA (National Security Agency), the NSF (National Science Foundation) and other agencies. Focus areas include the strategic converging technologies of cyber (i.e., AI/ML, data analytics, cloud , IoT, etc.), workforce development and key social/political impact areas (i.e., ethics, privacy, policy, misinformation, AI bias, etc.).
Service & Volunteering
- The HUSB cybersecurity program is designated as a Center of Academic Excellence for Cyber Defense (CAE-CD) which includes an ongoing focus on outreach. Current programs include high school summer camp programs and the HBCU cybersecurity focal consortium.

- CBD - Black Tech Titans Talk, a fireside chat panel discussion with a group of Black CIOs
Student Engagement
- CERC sponsors a variety of activities to engage students of all skill levels. Current programs include the guest speaker series, certification bootcamps, cyber competitions, student clubs and new cyber lab offerings.
- CBD hosts MeccaTech (a week long series of tech-based events) and BisonHacks (undergraduate student hackathon competition).
